“The Towers” Student Residence at CUNY City College of New York | NY
This 600-bed new residence hall at City College of New York is the first in its history and allows CCNY to attract students from outside its traditional commuter base. The 12-story, 175,000 sq.ft. building houses students in one-, two- and four-bedroom suite style apartments. Called “The Towers”, the project was designed and constructed on a highly-accelerated 22-month schedule to ensure completion by September 2006.
Sustainable construction methods were incorporated into the $56 million budget whenever feasible, including an Energy Starcompliant roof, insulated and panelized exterior wall systems, as well as recycled building materials and Low E Glazing.
